Applications are invited for nomination as Associate Professor/Tenure Track Assistant Professor (two positions) at Department of Engineering of industrial and manufacturing systems (Ref.: 512629), to start as soon as possible on a three-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of renewal and taking tenure into account before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.

The Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering is one of five engineering departments in the Faculty of Engineering, offering B.Eng., M.Sc., M.Phil. and doctorate. programs in the fields of industrial engineering and logistics management. Colleagues in the Department have received a substantial amount of research grants in the areas of cyber-physical systems and supply chain and logistics engineering, related to robotics, virtual/augmented reality, the Internet of Things and systems analysis with applications in manufacturing, logistics, construction and healthcare. Applicants must possess a Ph.D. degree in industrial and systems engineering or a closely related field, with a strong commitment to research and teaching. Both positions are open to all areas of research in industrial engineering and supply chain and logistics engineering. Good experience in journal publications and research projects will be advantageous. Appointees will be expected to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses and supervise students and research projects. Priority for one position will be given to those in the areas of Systems/Business Intelligence/Data Analytics while priority for the other position will be in the areas of Robotics and Automation, Internet of Things, digital twin/cyber-physical system, intelligent industrial systems and virtual/augmented reality. Both positions are expected to enhance collaboration and contributions to industrial and commercial sectors, including manufacturing, logistics, supply chains, healthcare, aviation and service engineering.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At the current rate, payroll tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will result in an end-of-contract gratuity and a contribution from the University to a pension scheme, totaling up to 15% of base salary. Housing allowances will be provided where applicable.
