Dominium Announces Acquisition of Aria Landings in Fort Meyers

Dominium, a leading owner, developer and manager of affordable housing, announced this week that it has acquired Aria Landings, formerly known as The Brittany, a 320-unit multi-family housing community in Fort Myers. Dominium plans to reorganize Aria Landings in the spring of 2023, renewing the property’s affordable housing status and completing an $11.8 million renovation of the property in exchange for reallocating housing tax credits to low income. This will ensure that Aria Landings continues to provide the community with high quality, affordable housing for years to come.

Nationally, LIHTC is the largest source of financial support for building new affordable housing and maintaining existing affordable housing communities. In exchange for tax credits, affordable housing developers and operators pledge to keep rents below market rates so that households earning 60% of the area’s median income do not spend more than 30 % of their income to housing.

The property consists of 26 garden-style residential buildings and a community center. Property renovations will include improvements to the community clubhouse, fitness center, outdoor space, landscaping and building exteriors, as well as renovations to individual apartments.
