Giving gifts, doing for others and giving service to the community and beyond are some of his attributes. She derives satisfaction from making others happy, just like her mother, Tracey Barron, whom she models.

“My mother always helps people and I admire that”, she said. “Thanks to the church, the Girl Scouts and the friends of Timbercrest, it’s easy to help people, but I think some people think it’s hard to do.”

Every year the holiday season gives the 17-year-old a chance to give back and every year she adds a little more. His last service project was to collect warm socks and hats, to be given to 40 residents of the Randolph Manor Home for Adults. Attached to each package is a note that reads, “You are loved from top of head to tiptoe. “ She has been participating in her church’s Living Nativity for about eight years as an Angel, a Shepherd, and for two years as Mary.

For the past several years, Barron has assisted at the Randolph Community Thanksgiving Dinner in all areas needed. This year, she prepared and donated two apple pies topped with trellis. She also donated a batch of cookies to the Living Crib.

Forty warm knitted hats and pairs of socks were collected and given to residents of Randolph Manor for Adults.

“When I was younger I loved to cook, but I got too busy” she said. “During the closing, I renewed my interest in baking.”

She is currently following Cooking 101 with Ms. Sarah Congdon.

“Rylee goes above and beyond what he’s asked to do. It is not just a matter of cooking, but also of preparing and cleaning ”, said Congdon. “She is a great leader in the kitchen while working with other students. She takes the lead, but delegates well.

“I think this class piqued my interest in trying new things and cooking too” said Barron.

She participates in her church’s Love in Action Project, an effort to spread the love of Jesus by preparing, distributing and delivering meals and boxes of food, and she has been with the church’s mission team in Kentucky and at NYSUM in New York. Another community project young lady Randolph was involved in was making masks with Mask Makers of Western New York.

The teenager sewed masks for mask makers in western New York State to give to anyone in need.

There is perhaps no more balanced and generous teenager.

“We have so many amazing students walking through the doors of Randolph Central School and Rylee Barron is one of those students,” said Michèle Swan. “I had the pleasure of having Rylee in my American history class last year when the students had the choice of being away. It’s been a tough year for many of us, and Rylee rose to the challenge and tackled the year. As we struggled with connection and tech issues, Rylee was still in touch with me and ready to participate.

“She is one of the nicest and hardest working people I know. Not only does she work hard in school and play sports, she is very active in her community. You can’t find a lot of people his age who are willing to give of their time to help others and to work to make their community a better place. Rylee is that young lady and I couldn’t be prouder and happier to have been able to be a part of her life. I’m sure Rylee will be very successful in whatever she does.

The high school student has made her way on the honor roll over the past two years. Her sixth year on the RCS women’s volleyball team recently ended with the team’s victory as Section 6 champion. She was her school’s reunion queen in 2021.

“Rylee always goes above and beyond to help others and step in whenever needed and expects nothing in return. In fact, quite often, she works behind the scenes ”, said Debbie Luce, Randolph student council advisor. “I am so grateful to have him on my student council and our school and community are lucky to have him too. “

The high school student has been taking dance lessons at the Village Dance Studio since the age of 3, with the exception of the year she danced with Expressions to be part of a competitive team. She started with jazz and tap dancing and gradually added pointe, ballet and contemporary dance. She traveled with a group from the Village Dance Studio to see the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes perform and performed with the same group at Disney World in 2019 and will be returning in 2022 to perform again. For a few years, she made competitive cheers.

Working for the Girl Scout Gold Award is her current project. She will illuminate and map existing trails at Camp Timbercrest where she helps facilitate programs. As a member of the Friends of Timbercrest, she helps prepare projects for the young scouts and cleans up the camp before the start of the summer camping season. She also split wood, moved boats and kayaks, helped move wood for a lean-to project, and wintered tents and yurts. In January, she will be part of a pioneer group to launch and lead Girl Scout troops for young girls.

The teenager helps her mother edit portraits of elderly people. She is a Tinkerbelle fan and has a collection of Tinkerbelle themed items. This earned him the nickname Tink, given to him by his mother. His pet chinchilla, Churro, has been in his care for three years. The entire Barron family claims their German Shepherd named Phoenix.

She is the daughter of Dan and Tracey Barron, the middle child between two brothers. His older brother, Jadon, currently plays junior hockey for the New Jersey Protec Junior Ducks in the EHL. Twelve-year-old Ty is in seventh year at RCS.

Expect to learn more about the young woman as she navigates through life. Her plan for the past three years was to pursue a career in forensic psychology and she will most likely succeed. She hopes to attend Kean University in New Jersey.
